I suppose The explanation is usually due to the terrific sparking element when working with ferro rods? Or superior edge retention? Or is there other components I'm not aware of?
I dug mine out and taken out the offending shape, it now has the shape of a boning knife in addition to a convex edge, minimized the offending guard too. I like it much betterer now! Now if I could just change up the original sheath…
I'd say likely better all dependant upon hardness and kinds skill of sharpening skills. If M2 and M4 are precisely the same hardness they will be pretty identical for have on resitants but M2's carbides are softer so much easier to sharpen on essential stones.
Apr 3, 2020 #20 I'm able to dig some 440C. Like Other people have claimed, given that it has a very good heat take care of, but that goes for around any knife metal. I have a few knives in 440C and one in 440A, all of them Lower and keep an edge properly.
I also want fixed blade hunting knives, but folding hunters have their position. Loads and plenty of superior selections can be found, so have a great look around. A cheerful Birthday to your son.
Intriguing that right after a few years of buying and even producing knives, I realize that when I go hunting and fishing, I attain for any Environmentally friendly River Hunter most of the time.

I should respectfully disagree with you there G.R.. I've not found that many double edged "hunting knives" from that or any other time period for that matter. Not far too simple for gutting, skinning, and butchering.
For me I usually have a Knives of Alaska Muskrat or Cub bear. They aren't just about anything Exclusive so yow will discover them with a quick google search.
